Hibernate Mode is a power-saving status for the Eagle 1 device that minimizes battery consumption while still reporting your asset’s location and status once every 24 hours. When fully charged, Eagle 1 can remain in Hibernate Mode for over 180 days without an external power source.
This feature is ideal for trailers, infrequently used equipment, or vehicles in storage, as it helps prevent battery drain while maintaining location visibility.
How Hibernate Mode Works
You do not need to activate Hibernate Mode manually. The Eagle 1 device will automatically enter Hibernate Mode when both of the following conditions are met:
-
The external power voltage drops below 12.2V
-
The asset is moving at a speed below 5 mph
Exiting Hibernate Mode
The device will automatically switch back to Active Mode when:
-
The vehicle engine starts, or
-
The accelerometer detects motion
This means that if someone attempts to move or steal your equipment, Eagle 1 will instantly wake up and begin reporting, allowing you to receive real-time alerts.
